Land for Sale

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 4, 2026

Your privacy matters to us, and we want to be upfront about it. This policy explains what personal information Land for Sale collects when you browse listings or get in touch, what we do with it and what your rights are.

If anything here is unclear, please ask. We would rather explain than leave you guessing.

1. Who we are

Land for Sale ("we", "us", "our") is a land and property business based in Abuja, Nigeria, run by Bernard Eno. We run the website at https://www.landforsale.com.ng, where we advertise land and property for sale in Abuja and Nasarawa State.

For the purposes of Nigerian data protection law, we are the "data controller" for the personal information described in this policy.

2. The short version

  • We collect as little as we can. This website has no sign-up or contact form. You reach us by WhatsApp, phone or email.
  • We use your details to answer your questions, arrange inspections and help with a purchase you ask us to help with.
  • We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to send you marketing you did not ask for.
  • You can ask to see, correct or delete what we hold about you at any time.

3. What information we collect

Depending on how you use the site, we may collect the following.

  • Messages and details you send us. When you tap "Chat on WhatsApp", WhatsApp opens with a message that names the property. Anything you send us, including your name, phone number and the details of what you are looking for, comes to us through WhatsApp. The same applies if you call or email us.
  • Details you choose to share while buying. For example your budget, the areas you like and, if we are helping with a purchase, contact details for your lawyer or surveyor. Please do not send us copies of identity documents or bank details unless we have asked for them and told you why.
  • Technical information. Like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical data when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device, the pages you open and the time. This is used to keep the site running and secure.
  • Analytics. We use Google Analytics (GA4), provided by Google, to understand which pages are popular and how people find and use the site. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects information such as your IP address (anonymized where supported), device, browser, pages visited and time spent. This data is aggregated and does not identify you to us. Google processes it under its own privacy policy, and may store it on servers outside Nigeria.

4. Cookies and embedded content

We do not use advertising cookies on this site, but Google Analytics (described above) does set its own cookies. Where the site embeds content from other companies, such as a YouTube or Vimeo video tour of a property, that content only loads when you press play. At that point the provider may collect information about you under its own privacy policy.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work if you do.

5. How we use your information

We use personal information to:

  • reply to your enquiries and give you the details you asked about a property
  • arrange site inspections and communicate about a possible purchase
  • keep records of enquiries, agreements and payments connected with a sale
  • keep the website secure, prevent fraud and fix technical problems
  • understand how people use the site, so we can improve it
  • meet our legal and regulatory obligations

6. Our legal basis for using your information

The Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 requires us to have a lawful reason for using your personal data. Ours are:

  • Your consent, for example when you choose to message us and share your details.
  • Steps you ask us to take before a sale, or performing a sale agreement with you.
  • Our legitimate interests, such as running a secure website and understanding how it is used, as long as that does not override your rights.
  • Legal obligations, such as keeping records the law requires.

Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time by telling us. That will not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.

7. Who we share information with

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only where needed and only with:

  • Service providers that help us run the site and talk to you, such as our website hosting provider, our content management system, and WhatsApp (Meta), email and phone services.
  • Professionals involved in your transaction, such as a lawyer or surveyor, where you have asked for or agreed to the introduction.
  • Sellers or developers of a property you are interested in, only to the extent needed to arrange a viewing or progress an offer.
  • Courts, regulators or law enforcement, where the law requires or allows it.

8. Sending information outside Nigeria

Some of the services we use, including our hosting, content management and messaging providers, may store or process information on servers outside Nigeria. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to make sure your information is protected to a standard that meets Nigerian law.

9. How long we keep your information

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purpose we collected it for. Enquiries that do not lead anywhere are deleted or archived once they are no longer useful. Records connected with a completed sale are kept for as long as the law, tax rules or a possible dispute make that necessary.

10. How we protect your information

We use sensible technical and practical measures to protect personal information, such as secure hosting, access controls and keeping devices up to date. No website or messaging service is completely secure, so please think carefully before sending sensitive documents by any online channel.

11. Your rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 you have rights over your personal data. In general, you can ask us to:

  • tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy
  • correct anything that is wrong or out of date
  • delete your information, where we no longer need it
  • restrict or stop us using your information in certain ways
  • provide your information in a portable format
  • stop using your information based on our legitimate interests

To use any of these rights, just contact us using the details below. We may need to check who you are first, and we will reply within a reasonable time. If you are not happy with how we handle your information, you can also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).

12. Children

This website is for adults buying or researching property. It is not aimed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

13. Links to other websites

Our pages may link to other sites, such as YouTube, Vimeo or WhatsApp. We are not responsible for how those sites handle your information, so please read their privacy policies.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we add a new tool to the site. We will change the "last updated" date at the top whenever we do. If a change is significant, we will make that clear on the site.
